The frontier between East- and West-Berlin was made of a very brutal system of different barricades. The dictatorial message both of being locked in and locked out founded the symbolic meaning as "The Psychological Iron Curtain".
By the time the "Border Wall" had been rationalised into prefabricated and standardized freestanding concrete elements. This endless wall provoked simultaneously with huge mourning and never ending trauma also creative reactions, the so called "Wall art".
It's Western face transformed into "The World's Longest Canvas" against everything non democratic.
